This presentation will highlight materials characterization performed at a teaching-focused undergraduate institution and invite discussions regarding potential collaboration. Notable instrumentation includes temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) ranging from 270 to 420 K and a unique home-built photothermal deflection spectroscopy (PDS) instrument. This combination allows for the direct and complementary investigation of both radiative and non-radiative photoexcited state decay pathways in various materials. Examples, including those featuring significant contributions from undergraduates, will be presented to showcase how these experimental capabilities have contributed to prior and ongoing collaborations. The presentation will outline future aspirations for these instruments and actively seek discussions with potential collaborators interested in leveraging PL and PDS to characterize a wide range of material systems.
