G24 Power, a DSC manufacturing company and pioneer of light energy harvesting, based in Newport, UK, has developed a highly efficient light powered panel optimised for operating indoors under low-intensity fluorescent light. This system provides enough power to run wireless electronic and sensor applications with no additional batteries. The ability of electronic circuits to obtain their source of power from the surrounding environment is a feature that has gained increased attention for sensor networks or embedded systems. G24 Power is offering a feasible solution for these systems.

The optimised chemistry in the DSC panels has been engineered to efficiently harvest the light spectrum found in indoor ambient conditions to produce a high voltage and high current, thus generating more recycled electricity from light. Further research activities have been focused on lowering the manufacturing costs of the PV cell and implementing new materials in order to further increase efficiency. G24 Power leads the way in bringing this technology from lab to commercialisation.
