The Carbon Council at Arizona State University is a newly established student-led organization dedicated to accelerating climate action and fostering sustainable solutions through innovative initiatives. At the heart of its mission are two signature events: the Carbon Summit and CatalynQ, the Sustainable Solutions Marketplace, collectively focused on five core themes: food systems, energy transitions, circular economies, climate and carbon, and actionable sustainability. These initiatives aim to integrate sustainability practices into ASU’s academic and community ecosystem while catalyzing impactful solutions to global climate challenges.

The inaugural Carbon Summit in 2023 brought together over 200 participants, including students, faculty, industry professionals, and community stakeholders, for keynote presentations, panel discussions, and workshops. CatalynQ serves as a double-sided platform connecting demand-side operators with supply-side innovators, fostering collaboration and the development of practical solutions.

By bridging academic research, industry innovation, and community engagement, the Carbon Council exemplifies how integrating signature events into institutional frameworks can drive the transition toward sustainability, creating a model for transformative climate action.
