Moving around

Depending on how long will be your stay in Torremolinos, the city offers you different plans to do. Among other interesting sites, we encourage you to visit the following places:

La Casa de Los Navajas. A mansion in the middle of Bajondillo: built in 1925 and belonged to the Luque-Navajas family, this mansion of Neo-Mudejar style with Mozarabic touches, was built thanks to the sugar cane business, at that time flourishing in the estuary of the Guadalhorce river. The mansion also hosts various exhibitions, concerts and theatre performances, and offers fantastic views of the city. Consequently it has become a must-see historic building in Torremolinos.

Los Manantiales- Botanical Gardens- Inca mill. This complex lies just outside the town centre and can be reached on foot or by car. The town’s past is undoubtedly linked to the history of the mills. Some were used for flour, and others for making brown paper or grinding bread. This latter use was the function of Molino de Inca (Inca Mill), the oldest of the mills. Today, this historic site houses a beautiful botanical garden of more than 40,000 square metres, with more than a thousand plant species, including 150 varieties of palms, 300 trees and 400 bushes and shrubs, as well as a dozen different types of bird, some of them being the only examples in the country.

La Carihuela, Playamar and Los Álamos beaches. It isn’t difficult to see why Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner, Orson Welles and Frank Sinatra chose this beach to enjoy the Mediterranean. Next to the sand you can take pleasure from a magnificent promenade and lots of shops, bars, restaurants and beach clubs in one of the town’s most characteristic areas, which is a must-visit.
