In 2012, Research Association for Technological Innovation of Organic Photovoltaics (RATO) was established by some members at Tokyo University (RCAST). RATO’s motto is to contribute to R&D and innovation action for future energy. About twenty companies and one institute joined RATO in 2017. Since 2014, RATO has been actively advancing collaborative research and development of Emergency Self Emitting Guide Device (E-SEG) with NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization). This device becomes luminous at night generating electric power with weak light energy, e.g. inside a house, a building, a tunnel and so on. Dye-sensitized Solar Cells module(144cm2) ; PCE is about 12% at 200lux, Organic Photo Voltaic module(113cm2) ; PEC is about 10% at 1000lux. We have carried out verification tests on E-SEG at three different places in Japan and have found some task for success in future from the questionnaire.
