Lead halide perovskites (CH3NH3PbI3-xClx) were prepared by one-step method on different substrates from solutions of CH3NH3I, PbCl2 and PbI2dissolved in mixed solvents with varying concentrations of g-butyrolactone and dimethylsulfoxide and by applying a so-called dripping procedure [1]. Metal oxide substrates were produced by spray pyrolysis. Charge separation in layers of the lead halide perovskites was investigated by time resolved and spectral dependent surface photovoltage (SPV) techniques. The sign, the amplitude and features related to defect states of SPV signals were very sensitive to the nature of the substrates under investigated (ZnO, TiO2 and MoO3), the preparation conditions of the substrates (deposition temperatures) and the preparation conditions of the perovskites (concentrations of precursors and ratios of the mixed solvents). The SPV techniques are powerful and can be applied for monitoring electronic properties of lead halide perovskites at the various preparation steps of solar cells and these properties are related to solar cell performances.
