The aim of this study is to compare the photovoltaic performances of DSSC employed with different commercially available TiO2 pastes under various light intensities. Specifically, four commercial TiO2 pastes with diverse particle shapes including decahedral nanocrystals and tetragonal nanorods were used to fabricate the photoanode for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and tested under the simulated AM 1.5 illumination (100 mW/cm2) and artificial light (T5 fluorescent, 300-6000 Lux). DSSCs are suitable for using under outdoor and indoor conditions, because their wide spectral response. It was found that despite all devices exhibited comparable power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 7.5%–8.8% under AM 1.5 illumination, their performance under T5 fluorescent light differs dramatically. Current experimental result revealed TiO2 photoanode composed of (010) dominant facet, tetragonal nanorods demonstrated best 18.49% PCE under 300 Lux T5 fluorescent light illumination. On the other hand, the TiO2 photoanode composed of less fractions of (001) facet, decahedral nanocrystals suffered from severe interfacial charge recombination and consequently lost PCE significantly under dim light.
