A study of the feasibility of an organic (OPV) and crystalline silicon (c-Si) tandem cell based on a semi-transparent polymer on a c-Si substrate using Proximity rapid thermal diffusion (PRTD) is carried out through modelling tools.

PRTD for emitter formation is studied as a suitable method to reach efficiencies close to those achieved with conventional diffusion methods.

Relevant parameters ranging from structural, optical, electronic and spectroscopy method will be considered. The modelling will be carried out with SCAPS-1D and Ray tracing software for the nanoscale level optical parameters to optimise diffusion parameters and achieve efficiencies and optical response suitable for OPV/c-Si tandem cell.
